How Does Telephone Counselling Work?
Telephone counselling provides you with instant help. This service is ideal if you live in a remote area or are very busy. A counselling session can be scheduled for your lunch hour or after work. A lot of my patients ring me at 7.00 pm, after their children have gone to bed and they have some quiet time. Telephone counselling also allows you complete anonymity, this is a choice of some of my high profile clients. You can have as many telephone consultations as you need or you may find you need only one or two sessions and you can ask questions by email, to save you time and money.
Telephone counselling fee is $95 per hour. This cost includes follow-up emails and information mailed out to you to help you in recovery. You can pay by Credit Card or deposit the money into the Courage to Change Business Account when you make your appointment. Phone (02) 4454 3556 for details.

Telephone Counselling For the
Co-Dependent Personality
Courage to Change is a counselling program designed to help you unlearn co-dependency behaviour. The program concentrates on eliminating negative self-talk and letting go of guilt, resentment and self pity.
Co-dependency is often a legacy of childhood and manifests itself as using food as a comfort during stressful times. Co-dependency also results in people pleasing, self-defeating behaviours and relationship difficulties. Co-dependency is linked to low self-esteem.
Relationship difficulties are another aspect of co-dependency requiring professional help.

Telephone Counselling for Alcohol Dependency
This is a tailored program to suit people at various stages of alcohol dependency. There is a big difference between dependency and true addiction. Dependency is the psychological aspect of alcoholism and alcohol addiction encompasses both the psychological and the physiological.
I went through both and would not recommend leaving your recovery until you reach the "shakes and the sweats" stage.
You didn't get to where you are overnight so it is going to take time to recover. There is life after alcohol! A beautiful life.
Alcoholism is a progressive illness and co-dependency plays an integral part in recovery. There is no magic pill to help you. It is a long road but worthwhile. You will experience a freedom you will never want to lose, once you have taken your first step - admit you are powerless over alcohol and your life has become unmanageable. That's the First Step and it is the hardest.
One-on-one counselling or telephone counselling keeps you accountable and on track. You can work at your own pace - one day at a time.
You can take the alcohol out of the fruitcake but you still have the fruitcake so there is a lot of work to be done.
You don't have to stand up in front of a crowd and bellyache about your past sins. You can recover in the privacy of your own home with a counsellor who has 26 years of sobriety to help you.
